Description:

DVT is a performing arts program, and the purpose is prepare students for initial employment as production assistance, audio/video equipment technicians, video/TV camera operators, video editors, multimedia artists/animators and broadcast technicians.

The content includes, but is not limited to, communication skills, leadership skills, human relations and employment skills, safe and efficient work practices, and preparation to assume responsibility for the overall production of digital activities (e.g. scripts, lighting, camera operation, electronic news gathering, field/studio production, video sharing.)

Courses:

Digital Video Technology One Honors:

Students in DVT 1 start a fun journey in media design beginning with training in the Elements of Design. The first semester focus is on learning Adobe Photoshop; the industry standard software for design and image manipulation

Digital Video Technology Two Honors:

Students in DVT 2 continue design instruction with a focus on The Principles of Design and practical application of these concepts through project-based learning. Students in DVT Two are introduced to Adobe After Effects; a powerful motion graphics animation platform.

Digital Video Technology Honors Three-Five:

Upper-level DVT students continue their learning through real-world production. Advanced students create the weekly S2N News program (LHS Motto: Nulli Secundus translates to Second to None), instructional Television Awards entries and numerous school productions.
